Hi guys,
Yesterday my mom took down my braids and I just washed, blowdried, and flatironed my hair today. My hair is still really thin and I was really discougered. My aunt came and talked to me and I felt better. Also now I realised that it is going to take more than just 1 month to see a huge difference.(duh!). I ended up just adding a clipin to my hair and throwing it up in a sock bun! I plan on getting some more braids though.
Also this picture on Pinterest encourged me to keep trying.
Mini Review on Tressemme Moisture Rich Shampoo
Its complete trash. Point Blank Period. It made my hair sooo hard(worse than the mane n tail)
I not worried about it though because I plan on going back to my braids anyways.

Introduce yourself!
My name is Daniela Mondlane and my name is Filippa Mondlane. We are half Swedish and half Mozambiquan. Why did you make the decision to go natural?
Daniela: My hair has always been natural. When we were kids we had braids and our mom never believed in relaxing our hair, and I have just continued being natural because it is so much easier and more convenient. You don’t have to spend a lot of time and money in a salon. I think everybody should find a hairstyle with their natural hair that they are most comfortable with that looks good. We shouldn’t have to change much. Do something fun and cool with the hair you were born with and you will be fine, hehehe. I have coloured my hair though. Either I wear my natural hair colour or I colour it a redish burgundy colour.
Filippa: My hair has also always been natural. When I was younger I had a lot of braids because it was easier for my parents to maintain. The only thing that is not natural about my hair is the colour. I am not a natural blond, my natural hair colour is dark brown.

How would you describe your texture?
Our hair is very thick and soft.

Describe your styling regimen over the course of the month.
Daniela: The only thing I really do with my hair during the course of a month would be shave my sides two times. I don’t use any styling products actually. I use Aussie Shampoo and Conditioner for dry hair to wash and condition my hair, but that’s pretty much it. I don’t have a problem with dryness, but I like this shampoo and conditioner because it makes my hair softer.
Filippa: I also shave the sides of my hair twice a month. I wash my hair with Silver Shampoo and use a conditioner by John Frieda called Sheer Blonde, which removes the yellow colour from bleached hair.

What does wash day look like for you?
We are pretty low maintenance so we just wash our hair, condition it, let it air dry and go!

How do you combat shrinkage?
We don’t really have a shrinkage problem.

What are 2 do’s for your texture?
Daniela: Use a good conditioner and let your hair air dry.
Filippa: You get really nice curls when you swim in the ocean because of the salt water, so definitely dip your hair in the ocean whenever you get the chance. Having a good conditioner helps too.

What are 2 don’ts for your texture?
Daniela: Try to avoid any type of hairsprays. They always dry the living life out of the hair. And don’t over wash your hair. Twice a week is fine to get a little fluff to the fro hehehe.
Filippa: Use a hairbrush, rather than a comb to maintain the curls.

Why I am I transitioning?
Hi Guys, Sorry I haven't been posting lately. I have two papers due last week and I had to start two new ones. I am also studying for the ACT. So I have alot on my plate but I am trying to post more.
Recently I have been questioning what I am going to do with my hair when I take it out of braids and if I should relax again so I sat down and thought of all the reasons I wanted to transition and here they are:
Recently I have been questioning what I am going to do with my hair when I take it out of braids and if I should relax again so I sat down and thought of all the reasons I wanted to transition and here they are:
1. Thicker Hair: I DO NOT expect to have super, duper thick hair like hair but I it doesn't take a rock science to know that your natural hair is thicker than your relaxed hair.
2.More styling Options : Twistouts, braidouts, wash-n-gos, straight to curly are just some options you have with natural hair.
3. Healthy Hair
4. More body
5. No more burns or bad smell of relaxers
6. Saving money in the long run
....and I can go on and on. This post was mostly for me:; to remind my self that all the struggling with two textures are sooo worth it in the end!
